Weld County is one of Colorado’s original 17 territories, established in 1861, named after Lewis Ledyard Weld, the first Territorial Secretary of Colorado. One of the largest counties in the nation by land size — spanning nearly 4,000 square miles — Weld County is known for its deep agricultural heritage, ranching traditions, and thriving energy and technology industries. Historically, it played a major role in Colorado’s growth through cattle and sheep ranching, sugar beet farming, and later oil and natural gas production.
Weld County includes historic and growing communities such as Greeley, Windsor, Evans, Fort Lupton, Firestone, Frederick, Dacono, Longmont (portion), and Mead. It is home to the University of Northern Colorado, Aims Community College, and a wide range of judicial and law-enforcement resources including the Weld County Jail and Courts located in Greeley.
Over the last two decades, Weld County has become one of the fastest-growing regions in Colorado, with expanding housing, business development, schools, and community programs — while still holding onto its rural character and small-town honesty.
After spending most of my life in Adams County, I moved north a few years ago and now proudly call Firestone, Colorado home. Living and working in Weld County has shown me firsthand the strength, resilience, and community care that define the people here. It’s an honor to assist local families in Weld County and the surrounding area with fast, confidential, and reliable bail bond support — especially in urgent moments when help matters most.
